Fulfillment Costs Explained: Part 2November 19, 2014
In our last blog post, we explained some common fees you’re likely to find in the fulfillment industry. We continue our explanations here with fees that tend to fall under client management, tech support, and the like. [more]
Account Management Fees: These types of fees tend to form the basis of the relationship between the fulfillment company and the ecommerce business. Some companies charge a flat monthly rate for general support and account management duties. Others may charge fees on an hourly basis, sometimes divided by the types of support needed (IT, accounting, etc.)
Reporting/Tech Fees: If the fulfillment company is equipped to provide them, they can charge for reporting on inventory and orders, or other types of tech-based service, including things like shopping cart support or web hosting. For example, Fulfillment Works’ Client Access Center provides a secure online fulfillment management portal where clients can manage all aspects of their account.
Custom/Additional Fees: In the ever evolving worlds of fulfillment and ecommerce, the need for additional services could come up at any time – so many fulfillment companies may also charge fees for things like:
- Returns handling
- Rush orders
- International Shipping
- Credit Card Processing
